On September 1, Category 5 Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas, causing widespread devastation on the northern islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama leaving thousands displaced and destroying infrastructure in the storm’s path. Within days after Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas, CORE deployed an emergency response team to provide immediate relief to the most impacted communities--medical aid, community support, food distribution, emergency shelter. CORE is focused on the long-term recovery for these communities and has implemented a holistic model inclusive of debris removal, housing repair, and economic stability through their emergency employment program. To date, CORE has removed over 3500 cubic meters of debris from some of the hardest hit communities in the Bahamas
